PHOENIX (October 8, 2019) – Just in time for the holidays. Civitan Foundation is wrapping up the year with its annual Civitan Holiday Market on Thursday, November 21 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Civitan Village, located at 12635 N. 42nd Street in Phoenix.
The Civitan Holiday Market showcases crafts and food products produced by members of the Civitan Foundation, an organization enriching the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Some of the items for sale include paintings and crafts created by members. Food items for sale include baked goods, desserts and flavored jars of butter and sauces, as well as roasted and baked hams are available for sale and pre-order.
“Food is always the center-piece of a family gathering around the holidays, so what a great conversation starter to say that this delicious sauce or this ham was made by someone with special needs from Civitan Foundation,” said CEO of Civitan Foundation, Inc., Dawn Trapp.
Members of Civitan’s art classes create a variety of multi-media projects throughout the year to share with family and the community. Some of these one-of-a-kind items available for purchase at the Holiday Market include ceramics, drawings, mobiles, cards and other fun creative projects. Also, there are many paintings made by Civitan artists on display and for sale.
“Treasures” from Civitan’s community stores, Flerish Design + Resale in Phoenix and Civitan on 66 in Williams will be on display and for sale, as well. All proceeds benefit the programs and services of the Civitan Foundation. Civitan Holiday Market is free admission.
“It is so much fun to find unique gifts for friends and family that have a wonderful story behind it,” said Trapp. “Our members make the most beautiful arts and crafts, and tasty cookies, too! A gift for a friend or family member, which was made by one of our members will be cherished.”
Other activities at Civitan Foundation’s Holiday Market include information tables about Civitan programs and services and live music demonstrations by members of Civitan’s Mindsong music program.
